Harmony of the Seas is one of the world’s largest and most impressive cruise ships, measuring a staggering 362 meters (1,188 feet) in length—longer than the Eiffel Tower laid on its side. It has the capacity to carry up to 6,687 passengers and over 2,200 crew members, making it a true floating city.
Part of Royal Caribbean’s renowned Oasis Class, Harmony of the Seas is the third vessel in this record-breaking class of ships. It was built by STX France and officially launched in May 2016. Since then, it has continued to redefine what passengers can expect from a cruise experience.
One of the ship’s most unique features is its design, which is divided into seven themed neighborhoods. These include Central Park, which boasts over 10,000 live plants; the lively Boardwalk; Royal Promenade; Entertainment Place; Youth Zone; Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center; and the Pool and Sports Zone. This layout allows guests to explore a variety of atmospheres, each offering its own entertainment, dining, and relaxation options.
For thrill-seekers, Harmony of the Seas features The Ultimate Abyss, the tallest slide at sea, spanning 10 decks. It also includes The Perfect Storm, a trio of twisting water slides for non-stop aquatic fun. These attractions have helped the ship earn its place as one of the most exciting vessels afloat.
Beyond the thrills, the ship is a luxury resort in its own right. Guests can enjoy over 20 dining venues, relax in 4 pools, tackle 2 rock-climbing walls, or take a ride on the zip line. Other amenities include an ice-skating rink, a spectacular AquaTheater, and even a full-size carousel, all designed to create a holiday that’s as relaxing or adventurous as you want it to be.
Harmony of the Seas also leads the way in sustainability with state-of-the-art waste management systems and energy-efficient technology designed to minimize its environmental footprint.
The ship typically sails on Caribbean and Mediterranean itineraries, visiting popular destinations like Cozumel, St. Thomas, and Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay. Whether you’re looking for family fun, romantic escapes, or an unforgettable adventure with friends, Harmony of the Seas delivers it all—with style and scale like no other.
